Red Velvet Cupcakes

Great recipe to spice up the routine.

  • 200 gr Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 115 gr Butter
  • 300 gr Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 50 gr Red food colouring
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa
  • 450 gr Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 115 gr Butter
  • 340 gr Cream cheese
  • 100 gr Icing sugar
  1. Mix buttermilk and vanilla extract.

  2. Mix butter, sugar and salt.

  3. Whisk at medium speed until lightened for 2-3 minutes.

  4. Continuing to beat, add one egg at a time.

  5. In a small cup mix the food colouring and cocoa.

  6. Add to sugar mixture and beat.

  7. Add flour and buttermilk to the dough. Let stand for 15 minutes.

  8. In a small cup mix baking soda and vinegar, add to the dough.

  9. Put the dough into molds and bake for 18-23 minutes at 175 degrees.

  10. Cool the prepared cupcakes and decorate with icing.

For cream:
Beat butter with icing sugar for 5-7 minutes, add cheese and beat for about 5 minutes.
